Chris Markos

Background

Christopher Markos has over a decade of experience in complex civil litigation, from investigation through trial and appeals. Mr. Markos’s career has always centered on justice and accountability. He brings care, compassion, and creativity to his work and clients.  

At McEldrew Purtell, Mr. Markos focuses his practice on the representation of individuals and their families in a range of catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death litigation, particularly in the areas of product liability, work-related incidents, toxic exposures, and negligence.   

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Markos served as a clerk for the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division. After a one-year Legal Fellowship with the American Civil Liberties Union of Pennsylvania, he joined an accomplished plaintiff’s firm in Philadelphia, with a focus on civil rights, environmental torts, products liability, employment discrimination, and personal injury.   

Mr. Markos was honored, along with his former colleagues, by the Eastern District of Pennsylvania for their representation of hundreds of current and former prisoners alleging injuries as a result of unconstitutional conditions of the Philadelphia Prison System. He previously served as Plaintiffs’ Liaison Counsel in the consolidated civil rights cases in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania alleging civil rights violations by a group of corrupt narcotics officers. He is a former co-chair of the civil rights and environmental law committees of the Philadelphia Bar Association. He has been published in and interviewed for both local and national publications, and has spoken about his practice to legal and public audiences.  

In his free time, he enjoys music, exploring cities and nature, and spending time with his wife and two boys in their Fishtown neighborhood.
