According to published reports and statements attributed to law enforcement and the Lehigh County Coroner, the crash occurred at approximately 6:14 p.m. on Route 100 north of Wertman Road. Authorities have stated that a southbound GMC Sierra pickup truck allegedly crossed into the northbound lane and struck Fletcher’s Honda sedan head-on. Both drivers were reportedly seriously injured and extricated from their vehicles, and Mr. Fletcher was later pronounced dead at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest. The coroner ruled the cause of death multiple blunt force injuries and the manner of death an accident.

McEldrew Purtell is conducting its own investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash and is asking anyone who witnessed the collision, was traveling in the area at the time, or may have dashcam footage to come forward immediately.

Published reports also indicate investigators have been attempting to identify and speak with the driver of a 2020–2022 Honda CR-V that may have witnessed the incident.
